Union offices run on volunteers and part-time officers who are short on time and long on responsibility. LaborWise exists to give them one dependable place to run the office.
Why we built it
Most locals run on spreadsheets, paper folders, email threads and sticky notes. When an officer or steward moves on, a lot of what they knew goes with them. The tools that exist are either expensive legal case-management software or HR systems that don't speak union.
We build software and websites for unions, and we kept seeing the same problem. So we built LaborWise around how a local actually works: the members first, and everything else (cases, tasks, files, meetings and messages) connected to them.
We're a small team, and the people who build LaborWise are the same people who answer your emails. If something in the app doesn't fit how your local works, tell us. That's how it gets better.
What we believe
- Members come first. The roster is the center of everything.
- Plain language. Members, stewards, locals and contracts, not “employees” and “HR cases”.
- Priced for union budgets. Free for small locals, invoiced billing, and you can pay by check.
