Member dues

Dues, tracked and paid online.

LaborWise keeps each member's balance, shows who is behind, and lets members pay from a link in an email, by card or bank account. Payments go straight to your local's own Stripe account.

Everyone's balance, always up to date.

Set dues as one amount for everyone or a percentage of salary, with different rates for a status or department. LaborWise adds each period's dues to every member's balance, subtracts what they pay, and shows who is current and who is behind.

  • Record checks, cash and payroll deductions, or import the employer's deduction report
  • Mark members who pay by payroll so they are left out of payment emails
  • Email just the members who are behind

The LaborWise Dues screen for a fictional local: 23 members behind, $1,840 past due and $48,320 collected this year, with a list showing each member's dues status, amount past due and balance.

A member's dues payment page on a phone: Local 418 shows Dana that she is behind by $80.00, with the amount to pay, card and bank account options, and a Pay button.

Online payments

Let members pay from their phone.

Send a member a private payment link. They pay the amount past due, or any part of their balance, by card or bank account (ACH), with no account to create. Each payment is recorded in their dues history for you.

  • Email one member, or select many and email links in one step
  • Members get a receipt from Stripe
  • Refunds and disputes show up on the member's record
Autopay

Set it once.

A member can choose to pay automatically. Each new period's dues are charged to their saved card or bank account when they come due, and they can turn it off any time. If a payment fails, you are told.

Card fees

You decide who pays the card fee.

Cover it as a local, or have members pay it on top of their dues. Bank payments carry a small fee (0.8%, up to $5), credit cards a surcharge where your state allows it, and debit and prepaid cards never carry a fee. Members see the total before they pay. Some states limit or ban card surcharges, so LaborWise asks for your state first.

Questions

Where does the money go?

Straight to your local's own Stripe account, then to your bank. LaborWise never holds member payments. Stripe charges its normal processing fees.

Can members still pay by check or payroll deduction?

Yes. Record them by hand or import the report, and they count toward the same balance.

Do members need an account?

No. They pay from a private link in an email, which expires after 60 days.

Which plans include dues?

Pro and Custom. See pricing.
